Cherry Blossoms
After moving to the state of Washington, I have been enamored by the beauty of flowering trees. The cherry blossom tree is my favorite so far! The enchanting delicate flowers that bloom in beauty and with the promise of delicious cherries -- it's mesmerizing to me.
The washi tape layering technique I use makes some of the cherry blossoms pop from the canvas giving it the 3-D effect. It is my intention to give the feeling that the blossoms will one day fall from the branch, which they may one day eventually do so…completing the “art of letting go.”
