Willow Tree
This gorgeous Willow Tree is a real, willow tree at Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, WA. Every time I visit this tree, I feel a sense of peace and tranquility. The way it reflects in the pond adds to that feeling.
I created it using Acrylic and Washi Tape. The canvas is 36" in length and 24" in height. It is framed with an acrylic shadow box from Wexel Art.
Although it took a year to complete, it was worth it. The tape led me. The reflection was a challenge, but once I let go and let the tape guide my hands...well, you can see how wonderful it turned out.
The leaves are dangling off the branches -- that's the tape's doing. I love how it makes it 3D.
